Rex Nordic Commercial Evaporative Air Coolers

Rex Nordic commercial evaporative air cooler in a large industrial workspace

Rex Nordic commercial evaporative air coolers provide high-volume cooling for workshops, warehouses, factories, agricultural buildings and covered outdoor areas. They use water and moving air to reduce the temperature, without refrigerant or permanent air-conditioning installation.

Fieldfare supplies three mobile models: the REX14000, REX25000 and REX48000. Each is mounted on wheels and has an integrated water tank, variable fan speed and automatic water inlet.

Need help choosing a cooler?

Call Fieldfare Trailer Centre on 01980 611853. We can discuss the size and layout of your building, ventilation, humidity and how the space is used.

How does an evaporative air cooler work?

Warm air is drawn through water-soaked cooling pads. As some of the water evaporates, it absorbs heat and the fan sends the cooler air into the building. Electricity powers the fan and water pump; the cooling process itself uses natural evaporation.

Evaporative cooling works best when fresh air can enter and warm, humid air can leave. Keep suitable doors, windows or extraction points open while the cooler is running. It is not a sealed-room air conditioner and does not use refrigerant.

Performance depends on conditions

Air temperature, relative humidity, ventilation, ceiling height and the position of the machine all affect the result. The stated coverage figures are guides, so speak to Fieldfare if the application is demanding.

Why choose a Rex Nordic cooler?

  • No refrigerant: the machines use water for evaporative cooling and have a stated GWP of 0.
  • Low electrical demand: maximum listed consumption ranges from 510 W to 1,100 W, depending on the model.
  • High airflow: the range covers 14,000, 25,000 and 48,000 m³/h.
  • Portable: wheels allow the cooler to be moved between work areas.
  • Water management: each model has a tank, water level indicator and automatic water inlet.
  • UVC system: an integrated UVC light is designed to help control microorganisms in the circulating water. Follow the cleaning and maintenance instructions.

Where can these coolers be used?

Typical applications include workshops and garages, warehouses, factories, greenhouses, barns, hangars, event spaces and covered outdoor work areas. Choose a location where the cooler has access to fresh air and can direct airflow through the occupied part of the space.

These are large commercial machines. Check the overall dimensions, filled weight, access routes, electrical supply and water supply before ordering.

Setup, water and maintenance

Use clean water, keep the cooling pads and tank clean, and inspect the machine at the intervals stated by Rex Nordic. The water tank makes each model portable, while the automatic inlet can maintain the level when connected to a suitable supply.

Read the official Rex Nordic cooler manuals before installation and use. The manuals cover positioning, water, electrical safety, cleaning and UVC maintenance.

Rex Nordic cooler FAQs

Is an evaporative cooler the same as air conditioning?

No. An air conditioner normally uses refrigerant in a closed or controlled room. An evaporative cooler uses water evaporation and needs a steady exchange of air through the space.

Do I need to leave doors or windows open?

Yes. Fresh air must enter and humid air must be able to leave. In a large industrial building this may be provided by open doors, windows or the existing extraction system.

Will it work in humid weather?

Cooling performance reduces as relative humidity rises. Good air movement still matters, but evaporative cooling is most effective in warm, dry conditions.

Which Rex Nordic cooler should I choose?

Start with the size of the space, then consider ventilation, humidity, heat sources, ceiling height and where people are working. The REX14000 is the smallest and easiest to move, while the REX48000 provides the highest airflow for very large buildings.
